Fantastic book club and deadline for questions - April 17

It was so fun to have the Battle of the 4 Armies at The Hobbit book club last week.  We drank Hobbit beer, ate scones, found the Arkenstone, made peg dolls, wrote runes, and ran around with swords and shields and did battle.  No plates were broken!

We should get our questions sheet finalized soon.     The description of how to write questions and the signup sheet is at this post

These are the books that still need questions written.

Amos Fortune, Free Man by Elizabeth Yates
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick
The Giver by Lois Lowry
The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate
The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer
Stowaway

I am going to ask that all questions be written and submitted to me by April 17.    This will give me plenty of time to compile them into a document for day of Battle (May 7, 1:30).  Angie and JoAnna both rock as they have already submitted questions.  Remember, get your kids to help you!

If there have been any changes to your team, please let me know ASAP.

March 27 - mark your calendars

Enthusiastic moms at swimming agreed that March 27 would be a great day to get together and discuss The Hobbit.  I have a few ideas and am doing a bit of research for others (http://www.teachingideas.co.uk/library/books/thehobbit.htm).  Rune writing, map making, dwarf peg dolls - if you have any ideas, let me know.  You have 3 weeks to read the book if you haven't done so already.  Watching the movie(s) does not count as they are VERY different (which will be fun to discuss).
