2. We will have 2 battles going on each round – one with 2 teams and 1 with 3 teams (we have 5 total).
3. Each team needs to have a spokesperson that answers for the team. The reader will only accept answers from the spokesperson.
4. Each team will answer 15-20 questions (amount TBD) per round.
5. The team shall have 30 seconds after the reading of the question to give its response through the team spokesperson. Teams are encouraged to confer before giving a response. Only the first answer the spokesperson gives will be acceptable--the team cannot use up the time left to guess other titles.
6. Scoring will be 3 points for the title, and 2 points for the author for “In which book” questions. Scoring will be 5 points for factual questions about the book.
7. If a team has begun its response before time is called, it will be allowed to complete it.
12:00 – arrive for lunch and set up
12:30 - final rule review
Times approximate (we will proceed to the next round when both groups are ready)
12:45 – Battle 1
1:15 -- Battle 2
1:45 – Battle 3
2:30 – Awards and celebration
WHAT I STILL NEED
- Volunteers for the readers/timers (Julie and Gena have volunteered but need 2 more)
- Someone to make a way for kids to vote on their favorite books (I was thinking a sheet of paper for each book with the title on it, and then give each kid 3 dot stickers to place on the paper to vote). If anyone wants to take this on for me that would be helpful. I am trying to get out of town for a week vacation after the battle and would appreciate the help
- Volunteers to bring snacks/treats
- More books for the prize table
Thanks so much and looking forward to a great battle.
